Sign-in and checkout

AWS Cognito and optional Google sign-in use authentication state to complete sign-in and keep account sessions working. Browser authentication storage can include tokens and session identifiers.

Stripe checkout and its customer portal run on payment-provider pages, which may use their own cookies and storage. Those providers explain their practices in their own notices.

Learning progress and synchronization

Local storage holds guest study records, account-scoped path snapshots and pending lesson-history uploads. Pending records support retry after a connection failure. Clearing site data before synchronization can lose this work.

Preferences and caches

Local storage remembers Day/Night/Auto appearance, selected paths, study filters, cached bird metadata and some dismissed notices or pending membership actions. Session storage also prevents repeated reload attempts after an app update.

Local storage generally remains until the app removes or replaces it, you clear it, or the browser evicts it. Session storage is scoped to a browser tab/session. Authentication and provider-managed storage have provider-controlled lifetimes.

Advertising and analytics

The current BirdBrain web app does not integrate an advertising pixel or third-party behavioral analytics tracker. This describes the application source, not every provider page or hosting configuration.

Your controls

Use the app controls to change preferences, sign out to end normal account access, or use your browser settings to inspect, block or clear storage for birdbrain.academy. Blocking storage may prevent sign-in, saved preferences or progress synchronization.

Clearing storage removes local data; it does not delete server-side accounts or cancel a subscription. Review the Privacy policy for account and upload information.
